You can see the third building of
Lenin Mausoleum. It was constructed once it had become clear that the embalming method was effective.
It is possible to see Lenin's body in a glass-topped coffin.
Lenin residence is located 32 km south of the Kremlin.
Gorky Leninskye, the way this residence is called, is the suburban estate where Lenin died in 1924. Lenin began to travel to Gorky for short rests, beginning in September 1918 after he had narrowly escaped death at the hands of a woman terrorist.
As his health declined Lenin was forced to spend more and more time there. The Museum was open in 1949. The house is maintained as it was in the early 1920s. The estate is set in beautiful wooded grounds which look much as they did in Lenin's time. Lenin's office was transferred to Gorky Leninskye from Kremlin according to the order of Yelsin.
